Hi folks.
We are veterans of the gaming industry and are currently working on the development of an open-source game analytics platform.
We recently released repos on GitHub. The project is very young, it is currently used in one gaming studio.
We are interested in your opinion about the tool, what yo…
Hello,
I've been looking for some decent 3rd party service to aggregate game events like where and how often players dies, how they play, where they go, etc. I've had very little to no success.
I am needing just game driven events to adjust game design, not monetization in any way.
I've hooked up Game…
We used Google Analytics some years ago with great success, but there are many similar platforms. “Analytics” is the key word and then you can throw “games” or “mobile” in there.
Let’s say you have made a game. It’s working quite fine and in your opinion, it is extremely interesting to play. Will it be enough for becoming a new hit? What level of sales can you expect to get? This article is my attempts to analyze some general and insider information, gathered throughout …
I think if you take a look around this particular subforum you'll notice a lot of other game development-related surveys being posted in this subforum.
In other words, you should post it in the same place you posted the post I'm replying to right now.
Hello all and welcome to this weeks Dev Diary! As mentioned in an earlier Dev Diary (If Memory Serves), I got a new pair of memory, in order to upgrade my 8gb of RAM to 16gb. This did ease the situation with After Effect, as the results can t…
Moving to the correct forum. Oksikosh, check the many Marketing threads here in the Business forum.
Especially Devian's March 20 thread, "Selling Hyper Casual or Casual Mobile Games"
The world of games has changed a lot over the years. And as developers continue to innovate, games could change more in the next 5 years, than they did in the last 45.
Games are already much more connected, more social, and ever changing as new content drops all the time.
All of this gen…
how do I calculate the processing power needed? Any pointer to that?
Implement the use case, fill it with synthetic data, and write some parallel benchmarking code that runs the queries.
Spin up as many benchmark clients as you can, until the database starts backing up. (You'…
7 hours ago, Rutin said:Your question is too subjective because what one person finds interesting, another person might not.
Does this relate to your own game development, or are you only looking for survey like responses?
Thank you very much for your answer,h…
This week I’m working on researching. It’s a fun process which helps me better understand my own game vision. What’s wrong with my design, what should I change, add or cut.
I finally moved from paperwork to Excel. Though I still use pencil and paper while making quick design decisions…

Yes it is common knowledge. Farming games are build on this concept and enforced with rewards. Stardew valley and Harvest Mo…
Have you looked at GrabAnalytics?
Thank you guys for answering and sorry for the late response. The flu knocked me out -.-
@frob this video describes pretty well what I mean with game feel:
GUI design is obviously only just a small part of it.
That data will cost was already what I t…
Hello, month ago I had released my 3rd Android/WebGL game, it’s a simple Clicker. I wanted to experiment with clicking mechanic, add some RPG elements. I didn’t know if I should release statistics from this game (they are really small). But in past I had said, that I will release statistics from…
Well, the diff is NOT continuous. As we sample L/N by texcoordinate, if you write down the function, you'll notice the function is piecewise. It's different at each plane/line. So the discontinuity of diff is natural.
Thanks your contribution. I love survival game so much!
