Strong stories in games

I''m thinking about designing a very story-focused game and I want to play games with strong stories. Currently on my list are the Bauldur''s Gate games, Planescape: Torment, Final Fantasy 6 and 7 and Chrono Trigger.
Any suggestions? Which games did you feel had a particularly strong story? I''m looking mostly for fantasy games.

The games listed in This Thread would probably be what you want.
I want to help design a "sandpark" MMO. Optional interactive story with quests and deeply characterized NPCs, plus sandbox elements like player-craftable housing and lots of other crafting. If you are starting a design of this type, please PM me. I also love pet-breeding games.
